The shipper is responsible for providing the applicable information about the dangerous goods to the Operator truckline, airline or vessel line. The prescribed declaration “Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods” has to accompany the package or freight and retained for a minimum of three months. The document contains the details of the shipper, consignee, nature and quantity of dangerous goods contained in the package, packaging details and most importantly a certification statement along with the signature of the shipper. Failure to comply with all aspects of the DG regulations is a breach of the law and legal/financial penalties can be imposed on the shipper.
Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods is prepared on red striped paperwork for Air shipments, without which the airlines will not accept the Dangerous Goods.
The documentation needs to be prepared with authorized software only and has to accompany the cargo. Most importantly, the declaration issued by the shipper has to exactly match the packaging, labels and markings of the cargo.
DGM California has helped ship Dangerous goods for thousands of small packages and palletized freight all over the world and is intimately familiar with the regulations of courier companies such as FedEx, UPS and DHL as well as the passenger and cargo airlines. In fact, we help airlines comply with regulations as well if a package or shipment is found damaged or having non-compliant paperwork during transit.
Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods is prepared on Blue striped paperwork for Ocean shipments, without which the vessel lines will not accept the Dangerous Goods. Most vessel lines go through a pre-approval of the Dangerous Goods declaration by their Hazmat And DG personnel before even accepting the booking.
The blue striped declaration also needs the shipper to fill the Container/Vehicle Packing Certificate section that certifies that the shipper has appropriately packed, loaded, blocked and braced the cargo for ocean transport.
Aeromarinewoworld has shipped hundreds of containers and has deep relationships with the DG inspectors of the vessel lines to streamline documentation approval and shipping.
Ground package shipments sent via FedEx Ground or UPS Ground have different paperwork requirements and additional provider specific guidlines that have to be followed compared to freight goods moving via LTL carriers.
FedEx Ground and UPS Ground require special stock paper (OP-900, OP-950 etc.) that has to be used for shipping hazmat goods via their ground network. We are authorized to prepare the special paperwork, label and package goods per their unique requirements and ship from our location. Remember, UPS Ground and FedEx Ground will not pick up goods from your location unless it is a certified authorized location in their database as a shipper of Dangerous and Hazmat Goods.
LTL carriers require carrier specific wording on the BOLs to identify hazmat packages
DGM California has intimate familiarity with all the variations from various carriers to ensure that goods are not rejected or refused to be picked up due to documentation issues.
